positivethinkingforlosers answered: Hey, I posted a really good article about it on tort-time. Are you planning to hibernate?
shufflegirldicey answered: hibernation for tortoises (in captivity) is only really used if you are breeding. if not it’s not needed, and if done incorrectly can kill.
positivethinkingforlosers: could you send me a link? This is my second year with him so I’m really new to this and I don’t know whether to hibernate or not. He’s naturally slowing down his eating and his activity as it gets colder which is why I’m thinking about it, but I don’t want to endanger his health because he’s basically my baby.
@shufflegirldicey: Ok, I’ve read conflicting reports so I wanted to check. I really don’t want to kill him, obviously!! Thanks for the help :)
Does anyone have a tortoise and would be willing to talk to me about hibernation?
